General Counsel

Our client is one of the largest financial institutions in its sector. The company offers a comprehensive range of credit management solutions that protects businesses of all sizes against commercial and political risks inherent in domestic and global trade.

Our client is a true global player with headquarters in Amsterdam, presence in more than 40 countries and around 4,000 employees worldwide. The company is operating under the supervision of several supervisory authorities, amongst which the Dutch Central Bank. Currently, we are looking for the General Counsel.

You will be managing the Legal and Compliance Unit that consists of 15 people. The team supports both the holding and several subsidiaries and branches on a wide variety of legal and compliance matters. Furthermore, you will perform the role of company secretary. You will be responsible for advising the Management Board, Supervisory Board and several subsidiaries, branches and other corporate bodies, committees and units in the group on corporate decision making, compliance codes, international contracting, litigation and other legal and compliance matters.

Profiel

substantial experience at an international law firm and managing a legal department

knowledge of international corporate law, corporate governance, contract law and insurance law

experience with Dutch financial supervision law and (international) compliance requirements

excellent knowledge of English language

able to diplomatically deal with different interests and cultures as well as with different internal clients and external advisors
