Legal Counsel

Abbott has nearly 90.000 employees in sales, manufacturing, research & development, and distribution facilities around the world. Abbott is currently looking for a Legal Counsel.

As a Legal Counsel you provide commercial legal advice to Abbott’s businesses in Region North (including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden). Duties will include analysis and provision of legal advice focused on business-oriented solutions to local senior management on a wide range of matters, including negotiation and preparation of an extensive range of agreements such as distribution/co-promotion agreements, marketing and sales agreements, litigation, antitrust and trade regulation, and compliance. The duties may also include managing a paralegal.

This counsel is the number two counsel for Region North legal matters. He/She will primarily support the pharmaceutical business, but will also provide support to the non-pharmaceutical businesses such as the medical devices and logistics divisions. He/She will be based in Hoofddorp in the Netherlands and will report to the Senior Counsel in Region North.

Profiel

Dutch qualified lawyer

approximately 5-8 years professional experience as a lawyer at an international law firm and/or as a company lawyer at a company of established repute

excellent knowledge of commercial law

hands-on experience with drafting, preparing and negotiating national and international contracts

general knowledge of IP, competition law and administrative law

preferably knowledge in pharmaceutical law, including basic regulatory knowledge

able to manage a large number of issues

credible partner for the business
