Senior Director Antitrust

The Corporate Legal Department at Philips supports the worldwide operations of the Philips group in every legal field possible. Worldwide, the Corporate Legal Department employs approximately 170 legal professionals, who function as an internal legal firm. This legal team is managed from Amsterdam. The department can be broken down into approximately four sub-departments: Corporate & Financial Law, Legal M&A, Business Support and Compliance.
The Compliance sub-department consists of the Head of Compliance of the Corporate Legal Department and the lawyers that provide legal support in the field of export controls, privacy legislation, general business principles and antitrust regulations. The Antitrust team is responsible for guiding any cases relating to competition law that concern the Philips group anywhere in the world.

To succeed the most experienced lawyer in this team, Legal People is looking on behalf of Philips for a new Senior Director Antitrust.

You will support and advise the Philips group on all matters that could arise under competition law and on the consequences of worldwide operations. You will advise on aspects of merger control in M&A processes and on the formation of joint ventures and provide and guide the relevant notifications. Where necessary, you will work together with external advisers in the Netherlands and abroad and with competition authorities. Within your specialism, you will advise on a wide variety of contracts, such as distribution, purchase and R&D agreements. You will also assess intellectual property rights in view of competition law. You will manage a small, high-quality team and will not be afraid to take on substantive responsibility in your field.
