Interview Julia Visser, manager Interim Solutions

Meet Julia Visser, manager at Interim Solutions. Since the beginning of this year, Julia has joined our Interim team. She is in daily contact with both our interim professionals and clients to ensure the collaboration between all parties goes as smoothly as possible.

You’ve been working at Legal People for five years, can you tell us more about your background within the company?

Indeed, time flies! I joined Legal People five years ago as an Executive Search Assistant, having previously worked for several years as an Executive Assistant to the General Manager at a 5-star hotel in Amsterdam. I’ve always had an affinity for HR/Recruitment, so it seemed like a logical step to join Legal People (and it has proven to be!). Although I had made the assistant role my own and enjoyed it, I felt the desire to learn more within Legal People and the recruitment field. That’s when I transitioned to the role of Search Associate, a very different position, but one where I learned a lot.

How does your current role as manager differ from your previous role as a search associate?

Although being a search associate also involves a lot of responsibility, the role of interim manager is definitely a step further. Direct contact with the interim professional, switching between different assignments, follow-up, and aftercare make the role dynamic and challenging. It requires a lot of independence, yet I still work closely with various advisors, especially with my colleague Marchien Maks.

What is the biggest challenge in running the interim practice?

I think it’s the need for quick switching. When a new assignment comes in, it’s all hands on deck, and you need to focus entirely. Since you are also dealing with other (ongoing) assignments, this can definitely be challenging.

What gives you the most energy in your work?

It’s the quick switching again, but following up on the projects and the contact with the interim professional also give me a lot of energy!

What do you think is the added value of Interim Solutions?

As an intermediary, we guide the entire process, not just the selection but also during the execution of the assignment. We take the pressure off the client to quickly find an interim professional. Furthermore, we maintain good relationships with the client and the interim professional by staying involved from start to finish.
